Why Goat's Milk?
Raw certified goat's milk retains intact proteins, whereas high-heat pasteurization can denature them. If raw milk is not legally available in your state, choose a dairy that does not homogenize its milk and uses low-temperature pasteurization for better nutrient retention.

Homemade Goat's Milk Formula
This formula has been refined over 35 years at Healthmasters, based on positive feedback from customers via emails, phone calls, and word-of-mouth. Every baby is unique, so you may need to adjust this formula to suit your baby's needs. Some goat farms offer colostrum, which is the ideal first food for newborns in the first 24–48 hours of life.
Newborns (Days 1–3):
- If colostrum is available, use it exclusively.
- If unavailable, mix 1 oz goat's milk with 1 oz distilled water and ¼ tsp powdered colostrum.
- Formula: 2 parts goat's milk to 2 parts distilled water.
Days 4–7:
- Add ¼ tsp powdered colostrum to the formula.
1 Week to 3 Months:
- Base formula: 2 cups goat's milk, 1 cup organic coconut water.
- Add to the first and last bottles of the day (after warming the milk):
- 3 drops of vitamin E (from a gel cap).
- ½ tsp nutritional yeast.
- ½ tsp organic, unsulfured blackstrap molasses.
- ¼ tsp acerola cherry powder (vitamin C source).
- 5 drops of cod liver oil.
- 5 drops flaxseed oil.
- If your baby remains hungry, reduce the water. If constipated, slightly increase blackstrap molasses.
3–5 Months:
- Increase to:
- ¼ tsp cod liver oil.
- ¼ tsp flaxseed oil.
- ¾ tsp nutritional yeast.
- ¾ tsp blackstrap molasses.
5 Months and Beyond:
- Add ½ oz fresh carrot juice to each bottle to prepare the baby’s system for pureed foods at 6 months.
- Gradually reduce dilution of goat's milk as your baby’s stomach grows (typically between 3–6 months). Your baby will stay satisfied longer with undiluted milk. Use high-quality organic coconut water for dilution if needed.
6–12 Months Formula:
- 2½ cups goat's milk.
- ½ cup organic coconut water (rich in electrolytes).
- ½ tsp organic virgin coconut oil (contains lauric acid for easier digestion).
- ¼ tsp organic flaxseed oil (source of omega-3 linoleic acid).
- 1 tsp cod liver oil (rich in vitamins A and D, EPA, DHA, and antiviral/antifungal properties similar to breast milk).
- ½ tsp organic, unsulfured blackstrap molasses (relieves constipation, provides iron, B vitamins, and trace minerals).
- ¼ tsp acerola cherry powder (immune-boosting vitamin C).
- 4 drops 400 IU vitamin E (supports healthy skin).
- 1 capsule Healthmasters’ Probio Max DF (supports gut health; add to morning bottle only).
- ¼ tsp Healthmasters’ Ultimate Multiple Powder (contains B vitamins; add to morning bottle only for energy).
Introducing Solid Foods (Organic Only):
Most pediatricians recommend oatmeal or rice cereal as a baby’s first food. However, at 4–6 months, babies lack sufficient amylase, an enzyme needed to digest starchy carbohydrates, which can irritate their digestive system. Undigested starches may ferment in the gut. Bananas, which contain amylase, are easier to digest and add a creamy texture to baby food, making them an excellent first food.
