What is the Importance of Vitamins before Pregnancy

If you are trying to get pregnant, you may want to consider taking high-quality supplements at least a month before conception or even earlier. Why? These vitamins help the body get the vitamins and minerals it needs to function properly. In today’s world, we no longer get all the vitamins and minerals we need from the food that we consume, even for those who only eat organic, non-GMO foods. There are many reasons why our food supply lacks vitamins and minerals: soil depletion, water depletion, grain-fed meats, conventional/processed dairy, toxin/chemical exposure, and the list could go on. I’m not saying that it’s not important to eat organic, non-GMO foods because it most certainly is. But what you should include on top of a good, healthy, organic, non-GMO diet is extra vitamins and minerals to create a healthy “home” for your baby while he or she is developing.

Supplements and vitamins recommended forwomen'sn and men's fertility:

For Women:

*Folic Acid- 5-MTHF provides the most biologically active form of the water-soluble B vitamin, folic acid. This specific 5-MTHF (B9) can help increase plasma folate more effectively than synthetic folic acid. It is the preferred form of folate supplementation due to an array of conditions that can limit the conversion or absorption of folic acid. This can help reduce the risk of neural tube defects.

*CorticoB5B6 and B-Complex- Vitamin B6 is an important nutrient, as it helps us to use and store energy from foods. Significant amounts of B6 before conception could cause a reduction in nausea within the first trimester.

*Ultimate D3-10000 with K2- Vitamin D3 is extremely important for not only you and your immune system but also for the baby. This can help support healthy bone development for the baby. Most ob-gyns or midwives will check your D3 levels when you have to get blood work done once you are pregnant. (The K2 helps with the absorption of the D3 in the body) (If you purchase the Basic Healthy Lifestyle kit, this bottle is included in ther.e)

*Basic Healthy Lifestyle Kit or Ultimate Prenatal Vitamin- these kits of supplements help feed the body with the general basic nutrients it needs to function properly.

*Magnesium Topical 4-Pack Kit or Magnesium Brain FoodMagnesiumum is used in many essential bodily functions. It can help you cope better with discomforts related to increased hormonal activity, as well as cramping, headaches, or muscle pains. Magnesium can also help with irregular heartbeats, heart functioning, and building and repairing body tissue.Your body can only absorb so much magnesium orally, so I use both topical and oral magnesium.) It is said that increasing your magnesium intake can minimize morning sickness. (I figured this out anditt helped me with my third child when I had morning sickness)

For Men:

*Basic Healthy Lifestyle Kit- This kit can help reduce sperm abnormalities in healthy males

*Zinc Glycinate- Zinc is known to be one of the most important minerals for male fertility

*Super Potent E- This is a powerful antioxidant that improves sperm count, quality, and motility

These are the basic vitamins and supplements I would recommend if you are trying to get pregnant. Also remember, ladies, the foods you consume now are contributing highly to the baby’s living environment he or she will be in for nine months.  Men, remember that the foods you consume now can contribute to the quality and quantity of your sperm.
